I loved this book when I was a child. It has beautiful illustrations and a good story. I liked this story better than Cindarella.

My 7 year old daughter and I enjoy reading cultural variations of familiar fairy tales, and were intrigued by this ancient one of the Cinderella story. The illustrations are exquisite and add another dimension to the appeal of the story.

The glass slippered Cinderella has a worthy cultural counterpart.
My teenage daughter read the book out of curiosity, and had a good chuckle when the antagonists received their just reward at the end.

my daughter loves this story, and we have a video (animated) of it that she adores. Cinderella is one of her all-time favorite stoires, and she is thrilled ot have a Chinese Cinderella story to share iwth her firends.
