Comments about Long Is A Dragon - Chinese Writing for Kids by Peggy Goldstein:
There are so few (non-textbooks) books with or about Chinese characters that I am willing to recommend - this is one of them. My biggest complaint? I wish it were longer!

Comments about Long Is A Dragon - Chinese Writing for Kids by Peggy Goldstein:
We are a homeschooling family who have been studying China in preparation to bring a newest family member home from China. Long is a Dragon is a great introduction to Chinese written language. My three sons had great fun following the step by step instructions on how to make Chinese characters.

Although not Chinese, my fourth grader found the book very interesting. Learning to write in a non-alphabetic language is presented in colorful fun.

Comments about Long Is A Dragon - Chinese Writing for Kids by Peggy Goldstein:
This is a beautiful book, and my 7-year-old loved it. She was ecstatic to realise she could read the whole sentence at the end.
It is Traditional characters, and we are doing mainly Simplified, but it was still worth reading.
I won't buy it myself, as a friend has it, but I'll borrow it again.
Revived flagging interest.

I liked this book, but it's a little advanced for my 2 1/2 year old. I need to check one of the characters because it looks incorrect. I was born here and am not fluent, but it looks so close to a different character that it really surprises me. Regardles
