This DVD is by far our family's favorite Chinese DVD. It is filled with great songs that are each presented three times. The song is introduced by Mei Mei and sung through once at the regular tempo. The second time it is sung through one time (slightly slower) by a child with the words at the bottom of the screen in English, Pinyin, and Traditional Mandarin. Finally, the song is sung through two times at regular tempo by a small group of Chinese Children. The songs are sung in various settings and there is a lot of variety in the children's costumes. There are several familiar English songs such as Mary Had a Little Lamb, Row Your Boat, and Happy Birthday along with many favorite Chinese songs like Pull the Carrot and a Happy New Year song. Children learn counting, family names, animal names, body parts and much more while having fun.

Definitely Chinese-style songs and dance, as opposed to American, but the girls love them. My 5-year-old loves acting out the ba luo bo (pulling turnip) one. My 20-month-old started asking for Mei Mei, and then started saying more chinese words, two-word phrases, and following the actions. She started applying the words and phrases as well as making up her own combinations. As a non-fluent Chinese-speaking mom, I need extra help for the girls to learn Chinese as well as improve my own. My Caucasian husband is picking up a few words and doing some of the dances. My immigrant father is singing along, too. I'm looking for more

We all of Mei Mei Hu's tapes and they like this one the best because they like songs. The girls on the tape are cute. Good for young children.

My daughter (3 years old) watches this as often as I'll let her, and sings along with most of the songs (especially the ones from other Mei Mei videos). I love the traditional Chinese songs...could do without the American songs...but love this video nonet
