I bought this DVD for my son who is 2 to watch. At first I didn't think he would like it but he continued to ask for it. He is also slowly beginning to understand and speak Mandarin. Like Jade, I'm Chinese by descent but married a Caucasian. My husband watches it with my son and he is learning along with my son too. Overall, a great product but sometimes the pace moves too quickly and Jade only teaches or uses a particular phrase or word only once and never repeated again.

I used this dvd in my Chinese CUlture class made up of higher elementary students. The students do not have any Chinese background at all, and this DVD was good for them even though they are older kids. Not having any background in Chinese language, this was a good introduction for them. It exposed them to a variety of vocabulary, and Jade had some cute sayings to help them remember specific things. It would have been helpful if there were more of the helpful little chants.
My younger children, ages 5 and 3, also enjoy the interactive portions of the DVD

We have been viewing this DVD with my 4 year old and almost 2 year old. They are both entertained and interested in the subject matter. It's great that Jade speaks clearly and directly to the viewer and the children in the video. Seeing other children of different ages speaking and singing Mandarin has encouraged my daughter to try as well. Planning to order the other Jade DVD as well.

This video is a great way to help teach children begining Chinese. My kids love the songs and learned a lot of vocabulary that they were easily able to remember.

Bought this product to transition my Mandarin speaking son into English. I believe it will help and he will enjoy seeing the children speak both english and mandarin. Would have liked to see the characters and pinyin on screen for the words also.
