Although I was desperate for this set to work out (it is nearly impossible to find a sing along set in Simplified Chinese, complete with pinyin and English translation), I could not justify making my 6 year old listen to this awful music. The background music was not hi-fi, and it sounded like a cheap organ. The singers could barely stay on key. The music was so bad that he (and admittedly, I) felt tortured listening to it. I *HAD* to return it.

It is great to learn Chinese with songs. Students are very interested in learning songs in Chinese. It is great!

Decent music. Not as high quality as I would like. It is great that the CD comes with a sing along book.

This is a great and easy way to teach children Chinese through songs. The melodies are familiar and catchy. The book has simplified Chinese characters, pinyin, English, and the music. The songs for Book I are very basic---Good morning, How are you, etc. Perfect for playing in the car. My daughter loves it. I ranked this as 4 stars because the music, though good, could have been better.
